For applications in bio-pharmaceutical and biological research, intact protein analysis plays an important role. Yet the difficulty to detect less mobile ions increases as the mass of analytes becomes larger and larger. Post-deconvoluted data along with electrospray ion source is by far a popular option.

Nowadays, Acromass introduces a breakthrough ion-trap mass spectrometer, "AMS-200 series: inTrap MALDI Spectrometer", to attack this problem productively. Technology of AMS-200 series innovates upon the combinations of Knudsen air-flow, modulated RF-field, and direct charge detector. (all patented) Such that those large protein topics, e.g., antibody drug conjugates,impurities in monoclonal antibody, protein-based drugs, protein assemblies, etc. can be effectively and efficiently resolved.

"AMS-200 series: inTrap MALDI Spectrometer" also realizes one miniaturized lightweight instrumentation with intact protein analysis(ESI as a plug-in). With compact air-intake pumping and simple ion optics, it is down-sized to 60×50×50 cm3 and total weight less than 50kg.
